TIE Figher: Main body details

I used the difference Boolean tool in mesh to cut parts to add detail onto the main body of my ship.
This allowed me to place the engine details into the top on my ship.

Although it adds a good amount of detail, using a lot of small polygons is inefficient and may lead to poor performance. Alternatively i could use Bump Maps to add details without compromising the detail of the model too much.

TIE Fighter: Cockpit details

To add more detail to the cockpit of the ship i used the bevel and extrude tool to create the framing of the ship

First ship: TIE Fighter

TIE Fighter MoodBoard
I gathered images of TIE Fighters to help me create a accurate model
I made a basic ship design following the designs from my mood board with the intention to add more detail later

I used vertex manipulation tools to create the top cap of the main ship body. I found this video on the topic very useful in learning how to achieve this.

I used the Extrusion tool to push in the parts of the wing panels to add detail.

I have found that the Extrusion tool is especially useful in the creation of the TIE fighter. As it allowed me to add important details to the body and wings.
