Colour Excercise

I have added a colour mesh to object to experiment what it looks like on the model.
what Ive found is that there are different kinds of mesh available which offer different effects.

Virtual Studio

For this exercise i have used image planes to ensure the accuracy of my model
when using planes i need to make sure all the planes are aligned before starting my model

Revolve Excercise

For this exercise i created a curve using the bezier curve tool and used the revolve tool to create a wine glass shape.
An issue that sometimes occurred while doing this is that the faces of the wine glass will be reversed and the model turns out black as it is showing the back of the face. A way to fix this is by selecting the faces of the revolved model and in the mesh display tab, reverse.

Village

Used Boolean difference to cut a hole in the cube to form the space for my house, I also could have used the Extrude tool which would have been more efficient with edges.

I used the add divisions tool and the extrude surface to create a second floor to my house

I created a cube polygon with 5 divisions to create a staircase

I extruded some of the faces inwards to make the staircase shape

I extruded the front wall and cute out holes for windows and doors

I found it very useful when creating something like a village is to Duplicate(Ctrl+D) objects. This saves a lot of time when creating similar objects such as fences and houses.

Alignment Exercise

I have used the alignment tool to line up some polygons
this can be useful in my project models because it allows me to eliminate unwanted gaps without moving polygons into each other making my modeling process more accurate and create models more efficient to render

Grouping excercise

By grouping polygons in my project file i can be better organised by keeping relevant pieces together such as the parts of the cockpit and wings. From this exercise i learned how to add polygons into a group and how they are displayed in the menu.
From this i can organize groups into layers and toggle their visibility which can help me when working on models with many parts.

Ship wheel exercise

I have created a simple ship wheel using the cylinder polygon and changing the scale of the axis as well as the rotation.
I learned how to add polygons into the scene as well as basic manipulations i can do to them such as Rotating them on different axis and Scaling them.

Boolean exercise

For this exercise I used the Boolean difference tool, to cut faces into a polygon and replace the empty with the face from the used polygon
This Tool is especially useful when adding details to objects or when creating polygons with cavities.
I plan to use this tool when adding details to my models.
